Annual Financial Reconciliation Committee

• This committee is responsible for reconciling/auditing of Cornerstone Elementary PTA’s

books with a checklist provided by the Texas PTA and Fort Bend ISD. This committee serves from June to September only. Must be a current CSE PTA member.

Nominating Committee

• This committee scouts individuals for the following school year’s open Board Positions and presents nominees for election.

March to May. 1 hour weekly

Marquee Chairperson

• This individual works in collaboration with the Front Office and the PTA Secretary to change the text on the marquee on a weekly basis. The PTA Secretary will also give you the text information regarding Birthday Marquee order.

Year round. 1-2 hrs per week

PTA Corner/Table Committee

• This committee ensures that the PTA Table is up to date with the most current information for our CSE families. Helps the PTA board to set up the necessary information during school events.

Dates are Event based. 1-2hrs per event

Communications/Website/Facebook Chairperson

• This committee oversees updating the Website and Facebook page as needed with vital

information and current/upcoming events for our CSE families. The PTA posts upcoming

week information on our Facebook page.

This committee works year-round 1-2 hours per week

Business Sponsorships Committee

• This Committee oversees obtaining sponsorships from our community businesses. Year round. 1 -2 hours per week

Hospitality/Food Sponsorship Committee

  • This Committee oversees obtaining food sponsorships from community restaurants
  • and various vendors to execute the monthly appreciation meals for our teachers and staff.

Year round. 3 hrs per month

CCFFN – Crazy Chameleon Family Fun Night Committee

  • CCFFN is an annual family fun night carnival held at CSE. The night consists of games, rides, prizes, music, food, silent auction, and other activities. Teamwork with other volunteers to coordinate, set up, clean up and assist in the various booths for this event.

Month of April or May. 1-2 hrs per day

  • CCFFN – Crazy Chameleon Family Fun Night Silent Auction Committee

This committee is solely responsible for gathering, organizing, and setting up the auction items for the silent auction

CPD – Chameleon Pride Drive Committee

• Color Your Chameleon is our annual donation fundraiser, where we ask all of us parents to donate money to the Cornerstone Elementary PTA. The CSE PTA is a non-profit organization, which is responsible for providing various benefits for CSE and the students of CSE. The CSE PTA funds all the field trips, a new set of 2×2 books & Bluebonnet Books for each classroom each year, Winter Party, Valentine’s Party/Program, School’s Landscaping, Science Garden, Potential technology/playground upgrades, plus much more.

• This committee is responsible for creating a timeline and itinerary of fundraising events to reach our targeted goal. The timeline will include sending parent reminders thru eFolder, Tuesday folders, holding signs at morning carpool, holding signs during afternoon carpool, sending robocalls, etc.

Restaurants, as well as other establishments. This committee is also in charge of following up on event donations, sending out reminders to parents thru e-folder and flyers in Tuesday folders and thru Facebook for parents to attend the event.

Starts End of July until late October. 1– 2 hours per week

Membership Committee

• This committee oversees entering all PTA membership information into the Texas PTA system and distributing PTA membership cards. The committee is also in charge of collecting Teacher PTA memberships and keeping a running list of PTA members throughout the year.

1 hour per week and may be little busy during the month of August and September

Shared Dreams Committee

• Shared Dreams is a Fort Bend ISD program, which helps the underprivileged families in

FBISD. Each school is assigned 2 days per year to go to the Shared Dreams office to help

organize donated items.

• CSE also participates in the Holiday Cheer Program, during which we collect wish list items for the underprivileged families in FBISD.

• CSE also participates in an Ugly Shoe Drive, during which we collect used shoes for Shared Dreams. Shared Dreams receives $0.40 per pound of shoes, which Shared Dreams uses to purchase toiletries, clothes, shoes, etc. for the underprivileged children of FBISD.

End of Nov to just before Winter break. An hour per day.

Teacher Lounge Committee

• This committee oversees decorating the Teacher’s Lounge with different themes throughout the year. The committee is also responsible for all the teacher lounge table linen. Decorate seasonally and help hospitality committee set up the teachers’ monthly treat and for a week during teacher appreciation week.

Round the year. 1-2 hours monthly

Student Enrichment Committee

•  Garden Club: This committee is responsible for ensuring all campus greenery, foliage, and gardens on the school grounds are well maintained with the assistance of a professional maintenance service. Volunteers help beautify our campus.

Round the year: An hour per week after school.

  • Book Fairs: Help in prepping and wrapping up book fairs

  • Art and Enrichment Programs: Art Reflection Programs(1+hr)

5th Grade Committee

• This committee plans the 5th grade end –of-the-year party.

Starts planning in the month of March after spring break. Hours of requirements depends on the committee chair and duties of the members

Grade level and Room Parent Coordinator

The main role of the Room Parent is to provide essential help to your child’s teacher in organizing activities both inside and outside the classroom setting. You assist with facilitating projects at the direction of your teacher and act as a liaison between the class parents, the PTA and the main teacher.

Grade Level; 1-2 hrs. weekly

Room Parent: Depend on the Teacher’s requirements and the duties listed by the individual teacher. Usually couple of hours per week

School Supplies Committee

This committee markets, orders and distributes school supplies.  Online Order forms are distributed to students in the spring and the required supplies are delivered to the classrooms prior to the first day of school. Usually, members distribute the supplies to the class rooms.

For a Month before school closes starts planning with the Chair an hour per week and later in August, 2 hrs. for the day of supply distribution.

  • This Committee oversees obtaining sponsorships from our community businesses.

Round the year. Starts work in July and eases after September and again during CCFFN prepping.

1-2 hrs. per week.

Family Fun Event Committee

The committee plans for PTA events:

Dads and donuts, Mom and Muffins, Teacher appreciation week, winter wonderland, by working with the PTA board to recruit volunteers and execute the events. Send the signup genius for the volunteers.

Round the year. Event based. 1-2 hrs per week for planning / 1-3 hrs during the event
